Tamar House is a purpose built home providing exceptional levels of residential care on the Northern edge of Plymouth.
Built in 1987, this two-storey building is conveniently located in Derriford, close to the hospital, transport routes and other amenities.

Tamar House provides a caring home for 29 residents who all enjoy their own private rooms. The vast majority of rooms have private en-suite toilet facilities, with bathing, showering and further toilet facilities being conveniently located on each floor. There are a number of comfortable communal areas for residents and a welcoming dining room on the ground floor. Tamar House is fully accessible to service users with physical disabilities with a lift, and a stair lift, between floors.

A Message from our manager - Zoey Boakes
Zoey Boakes brings extensive leadership experience within the health and social care sector, with a strong background in managing residential care services and leading high-performing teams. She has worked across a range of care settings in Devon, including registered manager and senior management roles within both residential care homes and care staffing services.

Zoey has significant experience overseeing the day-to-day operations of care homes, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, managing audits, and maintaining high standards of person-centred care. She has successfully led teams of up to 25 staff members, with a strong emphasis on staff development, supervision, and creating supportive, well-led environments.

Her career includes multiple registered manager roles, managing large residential homes through challenging periods, including the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as contributing to service development, recruitment initiatives, and business growth within the care sector.

Zoey is proud to now be part of Abbeyfield Tamar, where she brings her experience, dedication, and commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care.

Demand for new admissions is currently extremely high and there is considerable interest from families and individuals wishing to take advantage of the lifestyle and special care that we can provide.

 

As availability of rooms is limited, we strongly advise making an enquiry well in advance of when the need is likely to arise.

Making an enquiry now would enable us to help with any questions that you may have in advance and redudce the time that we need to complete your application.
