Our Latest CQC Report
A Message from our manager
We understand that choosing a residential care home for yourself or a loved one can be a real worry. Be reassured that at Abbeyfield we are dedicated to providing outstanding care by employing well-trained, permanent staff and by treating all our residents as individuals – in a homely, family environment.

As an independent charity, our sole purpose is your care and wellbeing. Abbeyfield Tamar is different from many other care homes … it really does feel like being part of a family, where everybody is cared for cheerfully, yet with respect.

We’ve been providing first class care for over thirty years with an experienced team who provide genuine 24/7 personal care to our 28 residents.

I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years, ranging from residential, moving onto learning disabilities and supporting individuals who find it hard to communicate their needs.

I started my career in residential when I was 18 years of age, supporting individuals with dementia in a care home before moving into supported living services.

I achieved level 5 in ‘Leadership and Management’ 5 years ago and have since trained as a physical intervention instructor and also a positive behaviour support instructor alongside my management role that I have been in for around 15 years.

I have a passion for improving quality of life for individuals and love empowering my staff teams to reach their full potential.

I have been welcomed into Abbeyfield Tamar House by all and am really looking forward to getting go know everyone over the coming months.
